Inflight Catering

Sandwiches, croissants, brownies, chips - this is possibly the menu for your meal on your flight today. While we do not serve full course meals on our flights we ensure that the simple meal provided by us is of the best quality. We work very hard to provide you the same quality of food at 30,000 feet as on the ground. Given below are a few FAQ's on the way we handle our in-flight catering.

How do you ensure the quality of the food sold?

To ensure that the food quality and consistency is been maintained we have outsourced the production and supply chain management of all food products to the well known brand Café Coffee Day.

Café Coffee day does the production of all non perishable in their specialized kitchens across India and they are associated with all the major brands in India to supply non perishable items such as juices, aerated beverages, wafers etc. All food items are loaded just one hour before the departure of the flight to retain the freshness.

Why does food fall short on flights?

Please accept our apologies if your first choice is not available. The quantity of food to be uploaded on the flight is decided based on the load on any given flight so as to avoid wastage. You will find that generally only perishable foods are short as the consumption of these food items is higher. But to counter this issue we load enough non perishable products such as noodles, wafers, cookies etc.

Why are the prices of food on-board higher than on ground?

Other than the price of the food material, there are additional costs involved in procuring, storage & upliftment of food. In-flight food is prepared under special conditions so that it doesn't get spoilt, requires a dedicated workforce to manage upliftment, food stocks etc. All these add up to the costs and are included in the price of the food and therefore the prices are marginally higher than on ground. There is also a certain amount of wastage that has to be accounted for.

How do I pay for the food and beverages?

You need to pay cash for the food and beverages purchased on board the flight.

Who should we contact incase we wish to give our feedback?

Anyone who wishes to gives feedback and suggestions on catering on board can write to us at feedback@airdeccan.net or fill up the feedback form on our website.
