What is the age restriction for children?

A Child should be below 12 years of age on the day of travel, beyond which, the child would be considered to be an Adult.

Define an "Infant".

An Infant should be below 2 years (24 months) of age on the day of travel, beyond which, the Infant would be considered to be a Child.

Does Deccan allow unaccompanied minors to travel on its flights?

Unaccompanied Minor services are provided by the airline, at a charge. The charges for Unaccompanied Minor services is Rs 500/-, against which assistance is provided at the time of embarkation and disembarkation.

What is Deccan's policy on infants traveling on their flights?

Every Infant traveling on the flight should be accompanied by an Adult. There should be one adult accompanying each Infant, as we do not allocate seat numbers for Infants.

How do I book a ticket for an unaccompanied minor?

Tickets for Unaccompanied Minors can be purchased at any point of sale. However the payment for availing the Unaccompanied Minor services can be made in advance by calling our 24/7 call centre.( A credit card would be required) The amount can also be paid at the airport reservation counter, in cash or by credit card.

Are there any specific procedures to be followed for an unaccompanied minor?

There is a set of Unaccompanied Minor Forms that need to be filled up and submitted at the time when the child is being checked in and handed over to our ground staff at the Check in counter. The Parent/ Guardian would need to sign these forms and provide necessary information, as required.

Do I need to show the infant's age proof at the airport?

Yes, a birth certificate needs to be provided as proof of birth for an Infant below the age of 2 years.

I am traveling on a flight today with my 23 months old infant. My return is after a month when my infant will be 24 months old. How do I book the infants ticket?

For the onward flight, the 23 month old Infant will need to be booked as per Infant fares, as prescribed by the airline. For the return since the Infant will be above 24 months, a child ticket will need to be purchased.
